Meon Valley Morris is an avant-garde English morris side from the Meon Valley dancing the Warnford tradition of Clog-Jive double jigs and the Boarhunt tradition of Cotswold-Boogie Woogie.
If you’d like to see us, then we can usually be found at various folk festivals, 1940s events, or nostalgia festivals throughout the year.
If you’d like to invite us to something, then give us a shout.
We are not currently inviting new members, but, if you live in the Meon Valley and you’re a beginner wanting to learn Cotswold Morris Dancing, then please join Wickham Morris, if you are an experienced dancer and new to the area, then try Victory Morrismen or Winchester Morris Men, if you’re not new to the area, then you’ll know everyone anyway.
If you’d like to learn Hampshire Stepping, then come along to Samuels Rest on the 3rd Wednesday in the month.
To learn classical Swing Jive, then go to The Swing Dance Company, who run many classes locally.
For a more “Rock’n’Roll” style of Jive, then try Jive ‘n’ Boogie.
If you’d like to do some Northwest Clog, then there’s Basingclog Morris or Knockhundred Shuttles.
