Sullivan’s Sword emerged from a mummers’ group in the mid seventies. Today we are an active mixed longsword side performing both locally, nationally and every two years at a street festival in Sindelfingen, Germany. In January we host our annual Plough Sunday event in Southwell, Nottinghamshire where we also perform the Farnsfield Plough Play. Dressed in bright array – claret and yellow waistcoats and green moleskin trousers – we are proud to perform six dances: Ampleforth, Escrick, Haxby, Helmsley, Salton and Sleights. We practice on Tuesday’s and we are actively looking for new members to learn the intricacies of these fine dances.
